Four books that changed Rupert Guinness

Rupert Guinness is an Australian sports journalist and author. One of four books that changed the writer, as shared at the Sydney Morning Herald:
THE RIGHT STUFF
Tom Wolfe

A compelling account of United States test pilots chosen for the first NASA program. Tom Wolfe's depiction of their characters and struggles, and their willingness to risk their lives in a bid to be on the first US manned spaceflight, was based on interviews with them and their wives. It reminds how people with certain characteristics – or "the right stuff" – can be so selflessly willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater gain.
Read about another book on the list.
