Four books to fortify the struggle against racism

Layla F. Saad is writer, speaker & teacher on the topics of race, identity, leadership, personal transformation & social change.

She is the author of Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor, which "leads readers through a journey of understanding their white privilege and participation in white supremacy, so that they can stop (often unconsciously) inflicting damage on black, indigenous and people of color, and in turn, help other white people do better, too."

At the Guardian, Saad shared a short anti-racism reading list. One title on the list:
In order to dismantle white supremacy, we must be able to clearly name it. So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo answers some of the most common questions we hear from white people about racism in chapters such as, “Why am I always being told to ‘check my privilege’?”, “Is police brutality really about race?” and “What are microaggressions?”
Read about another entry on the list.
