Emily Brady was born and raised in Northern California. A graduate of Columbia University's School of Journalism, she has written for the New York Times, Time, the Village Voice and other publications. She has reported from Latin America, Europe, Asia and New York City and now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.Brady embedded in an insular community for a year to produce Humboldt: Life on America's Marijuana Frontier, her book-length portrait of a California region getting rich on marijuana farming.
