The best of Norman Mailer

Erica Wagner, literary editor of the London Times, recently listed the six Mailer works she considers the best.

The two older titles:

THE NAKED AND THE DEAD (1948)
Based on his wartime experiences in the South Pacific; shot Mailer to fame.

ADVERTISEMENTS FOR MYSELF (1959)
A collection of essays, autobiography etc. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Read Wagner's entire list.

Beryl Bainbridge recently reviewed Mailer's latest, The Castle in the Forest.
