Scene from a book

Kim has an interesting series going at Reading Matters: she posts a quote from a book and matches it up with a photograph of that very scene.

The latest entry matches the following quote from Between Two Rivers by Nicholas Rinaldi, page 90, with a photograph Kim snapped on October 2005.
And then, passing close to the Statue of Liberty, off to the right, how big it is, high on the pedestal, green folds of the robe and thickness of the upraised arm, the bright gold of the torch turning red in the slanting sun.
Maybe that one was easy, but other entries obviously required more doing.

Check out all six entries. There's even one for fans of The Da Vinci Code.
