Paul McEuen's 6 favorite books

Paul McEuen is a professor of physics at Cornell University and author of the debut sci-fi thriller, Spiral. He named his six favorite books for The Week magazine.

One book on the list:
A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson

How does a writer of humorous travelogues pen one of the best books about science ever written? Answer: He focuses on the antics of the scientists as much as their science. The stories of J.B.S. Haldane and his exploding dental fillings are unforgettable. Trust me: Read this book.

A Short History of Nearly Everything is on Linda Greenlaw's list of favorite books.
