At the risk of perpetuating the unfortunate (1) marketing impulse to pigeonhole authors and (2) the notion that noir (or other genre) novels cannot be literary, I asked Goffard a couple of questions about the place of his book in the fiction constellation.I also asked him how his protagonist (the snitch) is like a newspaper reporter (Goffard reports for the Los Angeles Times).
