Mabel and Jack have no children, and though they're older than most homesteaders, they've decided to start over in Alaska in 1918. Things are tough, and they're doing everything they can just to get by. When they build a child of snow in a rare fit of joy, Mabel and Jack have no idea that everything will change for them.
