House of Hearts takes place in a darkly atmospheric boarding school and features a romantic duo similar to Maxton Hall (if James and Ruby were doomed soulmates and had a vengeful ghost chasing after them). I don’t have a specific director in mind, but I imagine House of Heart’s adaptation to land in-between Wednesday and Haunting of Hill House on the horror scale–a few ghostly scares like the latter with the campy boarding school fun of the former.
