Who would I pick to play Kay Hamilton, the tough, sexy, somewhat abrasive protagonist in Rosarito Beach? I didn’t have a specific actress in mind when I was writing the book and choosing one isn’t easy because in this case, age and looks matter. To match the character in the book, the actress has to be about thirty years old – that’s really important – tall and blond. She has to look good in the scenes when she’s taking on the bad guys, but in one particular scene, she has to be an absolute knockout when she’s all dressed up. And she has to project attitude.
