My reading this year has been very reactionary to a reading slump at the tail end of last year, I can sometimes find it difficult to ‘switch off’ and read for fun rather than critically. Audiobooks have helped; I still pause to take notes sometimes. This is a useful skill when beta reading, I most recently beta read for author friend, Wren James, on a book they have out on submission. I’ve been a fan of theirs since I was a teenager and even drew them fanart once.
