J.J. Carney is Assistant Professor of Theology at Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to Rwandan Catholic history, Carney's research interests include the theology of reconciliation, political theology, mission history, and African ecclesiology. He has previously taught at the Catholic University of America and the University of Arkansas where he also served as a Catholic campus minister.
